This experiential workshop explores the effects of intergenerational trauma of violence. The trauma of domestic and sexual violence affects not only those who directly experience it, but also subsequent generations. Statistics show that 84% of Native women will experience violence in their lifetime. This workshop is intended to educate participants on how this trauma affects the community as a whole and how healing might happen. Through a series of guided experiences, participants will cultivate awareness of behavior patterns which may develop as a reaction to this trauma, and that may interfere with their own wellbeing, as well as practices to promote healing in the community.
