Sponsor organizations usually engage in at least one-year of planning and resource mapping before applying to sponsor a CDF Freedom Schools program site.
During your planning year we encourage you to:
- Visit a local CDF Freedom Schools site in your area (sites can be located in our annually updated site location map). Please note that due to COVID-19, 2021 summer sites will be operating virtually, in-person, or in some hybrid form. Please contact the site directly to learn more about their plans.
- Form partnerships with other organizations and funders in your community who can support programming
- Conduct a resource mapping activity to ensure your organization’s preparedness come application time
- Conduct a needs assessment to gauge your community’s interest in, and need for, CDF Freedom Schools programming
