On Saturday September 16, 2017, Sandra “Sandy” E. Beckford-Gresham quietly transitioned from this life to eternal rest at the Montefiore Medical Center Hospital, Bronx New York.

Sandy was born in Middlesex County, London England on October 7, 1958 to the late James and Levine Roberta Beckford. Her devoted parents raised her in a loving Christian home with her five siblings, Jennifer, Joseph, Leon, Angela and Sharon. Sandy is a product of the Middlesex County school system in London. Upon her family relocating to New York, she continued her secondary education at Evander Childs High School. She then went on to earn post-secondary degrees from Monroe College and Hunter College. As an educator and one who loved children, she was employed as a teacher in the New York City Department of Education until she became permanently disabled.

On July 1, 1979, Sandy joined the love of her life George K. Gresham in matrimony. Out of this union, they were blessed with three children, Siana, Brittny and James.

In February 2012, she joined Grace Baptist Church under the pastoral leadership of Dr. W. Franklyn Richardson and was baptized on May 25, 2014. She was a faithful member who worshiped regularly until her myriad of health issues prevented her from doing so. She loved her pastor and her church. Sandy had many hobbies and interest. She was an avid reader, taught dance aerobics, her commitment to pedagogy inspired her to tutor many children in the community, and she also loved music and crafts.

Sandy is predeceased by her loving parents James and Levine Roberta Beckford. She leaves to cherish her life and memories her devoted husband George K. Gresham, beloved children Siana Gresham, Brittny Bekoe-Tabiri, James Rakim Gresham; three sisters – Jennifer Beckford-Morgan (Connecticut), Angela Beckford-Johnson (Georgia), Sharon Beckford-Nembhart (Wisconsin); two brothers – Joseph Beckford (Florida), Leon Beckford (California); one grandchild, Adaya Hewitt; a special cousin, Nina Beckford; and countless relatives and friends, along with her Grace Baptist Church family.
