Tell Congress to Protect SNAPEvery child deserves reliable access to healthy food. The Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP), also known as food stamps, helps feed more than 40 million low-income Americans, including nearly 20 million children. SNAP lifted more than 1.5 million children out of poverty in 2016 – more than any other government program.

Despite this success, SNAP is under threat. Congress has until the end of this month to reauthorize the Farm Bill, which includes funding for SNAP. A Conference Committee is currently working to reconcile the differences between the House and Senate versions of the bill. While the bipartisan Senate bill protects SNAP and its beneficiaries, the House bill makes devastating cuts of more than $20 billion and imposes harsh work requirements that could result in more than one million households losing access to the program that helps them put food on the table.

We need your help to defend SNAP and the 20 million children who rely on it. Today, September 13, is a national call-in day to protect SNAP. Join other advocates across the country and call 1-877-233-9025 to urge Congress to support the Senate bill’s improvements to SNAP and reject harmful House bill changes to SNAP in the Farm Bill. Tell your member of Congress:

  • I am a constituent and I stand with the millions of children in America that rely on SNAP.
  • Please protect SNAP and the children and families that depend on it by urging your member of Congress to support the Senate SNAP provisions in the Farm Bill.
  • I’m counting on [Member Name] to pass a strong Farm Bill that will help lift children out of poverty by protecting SNAP.
