Dr. Shannon Daley-Harris, CDF Samuel DeWitt Proctor Institute Director and CDF Religious Adviser, has served CDF in various capacities for more than 30 years. As CDF’s Director of Religious Affairs, she created the National Observance of Children’s Sabbaths Weekend in 1992, launched the Samuel DeWitt Proctor Institute for Child Advocacy Ministry in 1995, and began CDF’s Women’s Spiritual Retreats in 1997. She is an ordained minister in the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.) Dr. Daley-Harris has authored many publications including Hope for the Future: Answering God’s Call to Justice for Our Children, and writes the Children’s Sabbath resources each year. She graduated from Brown University and Wesley Theological Seminary. She completed her Doctor of Ministry from Drew Theological School with a dissertation, “Sustaining Sisterhood: The Power of Spiritual Retreats for Women Leaders in the Children’s Movement.”
