Dr. Brian Bantum is the Neil F. and Ila A. Fisher Professor of Theology at Garrett-Evangelical Theological Seminary. In addition to be a columnist for The Christian Century, he is author of Redeeming Mulatto: A Theology of Race and Christian Hybridity and The Death of Race: Building a New Christianity in a Racial World. Dr. Bantum writes, speaks and teaches across the country on issues of race, identity and discipleship. He lives in Seattle with his wife Pastor Gail Song Bantum and their three sons, and in a sign of his complete conversion to Pacific Northwest life, can be seen on neighborhood walks, drinking coffee, or riding his bike along the Burke Gilman trail.
