Geralyn Love, originally from Charlotte, NC, began her journey with CDF Freedom Schools® program in 2020 as a Servant Leader Intern. She currently works as a Student Support Specialist for Communities in Schools of Cape Fear. As a Student Support Specialist, Love provides services and interventions that improve behaviors, academics, and social-emotional learning for K-8th grade students at her school site. Love also serves as the middle school head cheerleading coach and enjoys pushing her students out of their comfort zones to explore their talents and interests. Love holds a bachelor’s degree in Psychology and Africana Studies from the University of North Carolina in Wilmington and is pursuing a master’s degree in Industrial Organizational Psychology. Love is a proud member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc., and looking forward to this year as a first-year Ella Baker Trainer.
