On June 13, 2019, the Children’s Defense Fund lost a beloved friend and a lifelong advocate for children, our Director of Policy, MaryLee Allen. For more than 40 years, MaryLee helped shape our advocacy for children and was integral to countless policy achievements that have made America a better place to be a child.
