The Rev. Dr. Frederick “Jerry” Streets, Proctor Co-Chaplain-in-Residence, is the former Chaplain of Yale University and a licensed clinical social worker. He serves as the Senior Pastor of the historic Dixwell Avenue Congregational United Church of Christ in New Haven, CT. He has, throughout his career as a Senior Pastor and clinical social worker, focused on developing programs nurturing children and youth, mental health care and promoting dialogue between Christian, Jews and Muslims and other religious communities. Dr. Streets was a Senior Fulbright Scholar at the University of Pretoria and the University of the Free State in South Africa. As a faculty member of the Harvard Program in Refugee Trauma, his research, teaching and counseling practices focus on trauma and mental health and spirituality. He is also adjunct Associate Professor at Yale University Divinity School and the Columbia University School of Social Work in New York City.
